Nova Scotia. 1976. The weekend of the American Bicentennial. When 15-year-old Kit decides that living with his father is too repressive, he hits the road to move in with his mother. Accompanied by his girlfriend Alice, Kit will explore his very core – his sexuality, his sense of place and self – in an attempt to find a place to call home.

David Gold, 36, a pathologically immature former child actor, has never been able to get over high school. Today, he was just diagnosed with skin cancer and got fired from the last acting gig he could get.

After a failed marriage proposal, a brokenhearted woman teams up with her ex-boyfriend to try and stop the hitman she accidentally hired to kill him.

LITHIUM STUDIOS was founded in 2010 to develop, finance and produce narrative feature films. Based in Toronto, the company is overseen by producer/principal Mike MacMillan.
Working internationally, our slate includes projects from both emerging and established directors, with a focus on coproduction and working with select partner producers.

Mike MacMillan has been producing award-winning independent film since founding Lithium in 2010. Named in 2015 to Screen International’s distinguished Future Leader’s list, his features have played at TIFF, Berlinale, Cannes and other top festivals internationally.

With Weirdos (dir: Bruce McDonald) entertaining audiences after a strong festival run (TIFF 2016, Berlinale 2017) and Mobile Homes (dir: Vladimir de Fontenay) turn at Cannes (Quinzaines) in 2017, Lithium anticipates the festival release of Don’t Talk to Irene (dir: Pat Mills) in fall of 2017.

Mike’s first feature, the dark comedy/thriller I Put a Hit on You premiered at Slamdance Film Festival (Mongrel) and his second – dark comedy Guidance (Strand) – premiered at TIFF14.

He is in a deep and meaningful relationship with his bulldog Jack.
